Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi were in action for Nottingham Forest who played 1-1 against visiting Bournemouth in their first Premier League game of the season on Saturday.
Aina who started the game was later replaced in the 54th minute while Awoniyi came on in the 72nd minute.
Forest looked to be heading for an opening day win after Chris Wood gave them the lead on 23 minutes.
But with four minutes left Black Stars of Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo equalised for Bournemouth.
At St James’ Park Joe Aribo was in action before going off on 70 minutes as newly promoted Southampton lost 1-0 to Newcastle United.
Despite playing most of the game with 10 men Newcastle still went on to win thanks to Joelinton 45th minute goal.
At the Emirates, Arsenal began another quest for the Premier League title with a 2-0 win against Wolves.
Goals in each half by Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka secured the three points for the Gunners.
The other results on Saturday saw Liverpool beat Ipswich Town 2-0 while Brighton thrashed Everton 3-0 at Goodison Park.
